Location Photography with Natural & Artificial Light

Location shoots, I love working in my bespoke studio but there is also a joy to creating photoshoots outside, whether that be in your garden, by the sea, in the countryside or in a commercial or urban environment. If you are interested in a location shoot, I will take a number of factors into consideration in the careful planning of your photography.

A key priority is choosing photoshoot locations with flattering lighting. One of the easiest ways to achieve this is to organise an outdoor photoshoot at a time of day when the light is most flattering. As a general rule, morning or early evening location shoots provide the softest and warmest forms of natural lighting. If we are using an indoor location, I will often use a portable studio set up to complement the sun’s natural light.

I will work with you to choose a photoshoot location that suits your style and wishes. Before we settle on a location, we will consider the story your photographs will tell. Whether you’re looking for family photos or interesting locations for lifestyle portraiture, together we will come up with a theme for the shoot in order to deliver truly memorable images.

Choosing a location that is tranquil and can be photographed from a variety of angles will also enable me to capture images against a range of backdrops or backgrounds. Whilst the weather is often kind to us for outside shoots, we will, of course, follow the weather forecast and always have a back-up plan!

Locations chosen will be easy to access and not too far away!
